To wonder what the hell these things are?

These weird little flecks keep appearing EVERYWHERE in our house. Stuck to DD’s skin, on the floor… all over the place.

They’re small, greyish and look shiny on one side and dull and slightly textured on the other.

The rough side looks almost like it has a fingerprint sort of pattern.

Only thing I can possibly think is it could be tiny specks of leather from our newish car seats but seems unlikely.

They don’t seem to be insect/organic and don’t move.

Please help me figure this mystery out so I can stop them getting everywhere! Thank you!

Pen for size comparison.

Look outside and see what trees are growing near your house. I’m guess they are seeds blowing in.

When you say “sides” are they not spherical ? They do look like seeds, but seeds are not normally textured on one “side”, as small seeds like this are usually a sphere, and have an even texture.
Can you cut one open ? Do they smell of anything ?

Spider poo?

Somethinginthemilk · 16/09/2023 08:01

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I have had another hunt around and discovered that they’re tiny dots of rubbery type material that are coming off a back support cushion!

Thankfully not spider poo @ReverseFerret 🤣

Mystery solved!
