I've seen this pink panther jumper that I adore in primark. Yet worry I am too old to wear it at 38. What do you think ?

Who cares? If you like it, wear it.

EverythingYouDoIsaBalloon · 15/09/2023 13:52

No such thing as too old to wear the things you like. Get it! 🙂

MonkeyDoodles · 15/09/2023 13:52

Just worried I will look to try hard and trying to stay young

The only questions you should ask are do I like it? And do I like it on me? No one else's opinion matters.

ManateeFair · 15/09/2023 13:58

Oh, there's no such thing as 'too old' for clothes. Wear what you bloody like. Women over 30 don't have to dress solely in floral midi dresses and sensible mix and match neutrals from Hush, you know.

Nobody, when lying on their death bed and reflecting on their life, has ever thought 'I really wish I'd denied myself a small thing that would have made me happy'.

FWIW I'm a decade older than you and I'm wearing a Snoopy sweatshirt today.

HungryWisdom · 15/09/2023 13:59

Buy it!!!! I’m late 30’s and one of my favourite jumpers has a huge pic of snoopy!

I couldn’t give a crap what other people think of it, I love it!

You ARE young ffs!

And I guarantee you nobody will think you're 'trying to stay young' by wearing a quirky jumper.

(Also, the Pink Panther is timeless and one of the all-time most stylish cartoon characters; I'll not have a word said against him)

@HungryWisdom ALL the best people love Snoopy 😁

TregunaMekoides · 15/09/2023 15:03

OP, honestly don't even worry about what other people think.
I only ever wear clothes I love that are comfortable. That's it. I don't care how I look in them despite fully aware that 9 times out of 10 that look is "Children's TV presenter".

If you love it, buy it and wear it with pride and bollocks to everyone else.

StoneWitch · 15/09/2023 15:05

I'm 39 and currently wearing a Jigglypuff tshirt.

MonkeyDoodles · 15/09/2023 15:21

I know it's silly to worry but never know what to wear these days. I don't want to dress in plain and sensible dresses and blouses, just not who I am but at the same time, don't want to look ridiculous.

Doggymummar · 15/09/2023 15:25

I just went to Boots to get some glasses, and the lady said to me, They're Glitter Babes, for kids do you mind. I said nope I like them and ordered them. So go for it.

Thepeopleversuswork · 15/09/2023 15:28

You can't go through life worrying about what other people think about stuff like that. Screw anyone who has an opinion on this.

Stompythedinosaur · 15/09/2023 16:07

It is t hurting anyone, so I say you should do what you like.

I'm 42 and I've recently bought a work dress with ducks on.

Curseofthenation · 15/09/2023 16:11

I think I've seen this type of clothes on 35+ year olds more than younger people tbh. The younger women seem to wear the plain yet colourful clothes in Primark.

It's not my cup of tea but I wouldn't worry about it being too young.

MonkeyDoodles · 15/09/2023 16:44

Will think about it. It's a shame really as I like it but worried that people will laugh or ridicule me which at my age is ridiculous as I shouldn't care.

ChristmasFluff · 15/09/2023 17:51

Yes, you have no need to care.

This has become more than a Pink Panther jumper - it's about who runs your life? You? Or a bunch of other people who may or may not approve of you?

There's a book called the Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. You need it.

This is a jumper, you aren't biting the heads off hamsters. Where's your freedom if you are imprisoned by the potential opinions of rhetorical others?
