To ask for Universal Credit advice please

Please don't flame me. I am applying for jobs left, right and centre.

I have been receiving universal credit since July. Previously I was employed by a business that closed down very suddenly. As I hadn't been there long enough I did not qualify for redundancy.

My ex husband left me with a lot of debt which I have been clearing for a few years.

Since going on to universal credit I have had to reduce payments to the companies.

My son has offered to loan me 1k until I can find work as after paying my bills I have £57 pcm to feed and clothe myself, pay for fuel to get to appointments and interviews etc.

If he pays this into my bank account will it reduce my universal credit? I don't want to accept it and it make my situation even worse.

I tried to ask in my journal but have not had a reply.

Thanks in advance.

Hi OP. No, payments like this don't affect your UC claim. Its not counted as income. Its stuff that gets reported to hmrc that would affect your claim

Thank you, I had an email yesterday to call me back for a second interview so I'm hopeful that I get the job.
