I am paid by my work twice a fortnight and today my council tax bill came out. I had asked the council if I could cancel the direct debit and make a manual payment as my payment dates are sometimes different and I found it easier that way. However, the direct debit has still come out today and I can’t really afford it too as I agreed manual payment with the council on the 30th of each month. Does anybody know if it’s possible to have it refunded by the bank or if it’s covered by the direct debit guarantee? Thank you.
