I sold some of my worldly possessions to finance this (well my old maternity clothes and sling) and have since been waiting for DP to get the old one down so we can put it on freecycle. He has been saying he will get it down from the loft (i'm a big scardy cat with a phobia of heights) for over two weeks. I have had the money sitting in my account since last Monday. I should be in all day Thursday which is when it is most likely to be delivered. DD eating in her bumbo isn't working well. Should i just quietly order it later and not mention it until it arrives? Or is that too naughty?

Would he sit in one and eat his dinnner? Go get it

hazygirl · 04/03/2008 08:02

order it ,

Heifer · 04/03/2008 08:11

Does he not want you to order one then?

Are there other things that you need more? Bills that need paying etc?

Is the old one still useable?

Sorry to not jump on the bandwagon and say order it - but if it is going to cause much grief is it worth it?

If on the other hand he is just being a grumpy tightfisted bloke and doesn't see the point in a new one and you really want it and can afford it then go ahead and order it!

I'm being a fuss pot. I brought it second hand for ds and have never liked it. Its horrible to clean and from what I recall, smelly. He thinks its fine but really isn't too sure. I've sold my stuff to be able to buy a new one, he's not entirely convinced but his only real bugbear is that he wants to get rid of the old one first.

So it's only from a storage perspective he wants to get rid of the old one? (If it's going on freecycle it can't be for the money)? I presume he's afraid it will stay in the logt gathering dust?
Is there a reason why you can't get the old one down yourself?
Failing that, tell him if he doesn't get it down today then you are going to buy the new one anyway.

Get a friend round and ask them to go up in the loft and get the old one down for you.

flossish · 05/03/2008 07:26

someone up there is trying to tell me something - they seem to be sold out! GRRR!
