Should I take solicitors advice

Long story short...

My ex is refusing to contribute to my child's third level ed. We are in a Ireland so its essentially a cash payment of approx e11k per year. That's fees, accom. My child 🧒 pays the rest from her weekend job.

My husband and I are separated.
He refuses to contribute, says he doesn't have it . He has enough to holiday, eat out, weekends away and have nice style. Just not for his children. They dont spend any time with him and he contributes bare
Minimum maintenance now and again.

My solicitor wants me to vouch and send him a bill for half of the the costs .

Is there any point ??? He says he doesn't have it. I know he will continue to refuse to
Pay it.
Papers for divorce are being currently prepared.
Is this letter just a waste of time and money ?
Can I recoup from sale of house when kids sorted after Uni?
