For me, at the moment it's that every single one of our police forces needs an urgent outside investigation.
Women are having more of their rights and safety stripped away every day.

Weather manipulation
Slow slide into a data controlled population.
Land grabs
Deliberate destruction of small agriculture
Goes and gets tin foil hat.

Climate change and net zero is part of a plan to control our lives and take away our freedom of choice for things like travel, employment, housing, relationships.

Sorry but this is not true at all.

Stupendousseptember · 14/09/2023 19:47

Parents of dc with sen.

Unfortunately no matter what your ehcp says its extremely unlikely your dc will get the support outlined purely because no teacher will understand their needs at all.

The rich are getting richer and the rest of us are just getting poorer. We’re supposed to be grateful for UC topping up our income when in reality a decent wage would remove the need for a UC top up.

I would tell people that trans people aren't the enemy - it's the cis men who abuse the rules to hurt women that we should be angry with. Not with each other. I really don't understand why it's a trans people vs women argument while cis men appear to be getting away scot free.

Because its transwomen who are cheating in women's sports and denying women places in competitions? Because there are multiple transwomen who have been found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting women and girls? Because transpeople are the ones pushing for such crap as women to be called non-men and bodies with the vaginas?

It's men that are the problem - and their race, religion, sexuality or gender identity doesn't change that.

There is a huge variety in quality of schooling which will change and ruin children's lives up and down the country. Staff absence or being unable to recruit is now the norm and some children are absolutely wild. Basic respect and courtesy had been lost. I have taught classes of 60 due to staff absence before. Obviously the parents were unaware.

Spice in prison is an epidemic. I echo previous posters' talking if crumbling infrastructure. I believe immigration at this point which isn't incredibly careful is naive. We are rapidly running out of space in the UK.

One more: the south is like a different planet compared to the rest of the UK.

PiddleOfPuppies · 14/09/2023 19:59

Humans aren't designed to live with the level of anxiety we are subjected to. The relentless barrage of "breaking news" and crisis after crisis is going to cause an avalanche of either mental health issues or complete apathy. The constant urge for fight, flight or freeze can't be sustainable.

Wow so much right wing propaganda on this thread - it's like a Daily Mail hot tub of frothers in some places Shock

I wish everyone to know that we are 'proper fucked' to quote Statham in Lock Stock...

PotatoWafflerWrites · 14/09/2023 20:09

Environmental breakdown and catastrophe, a few years round the corner here in the UK, already obvious massive effects elsewhere. (fires, floods). If we acted now, we could significantly improve our chances of life for the future on earth. We won't and don't act. I'm depressed and terrified. We all know this, but choose to forget it.

Moredrobe · 14/09/2023 20:16

I believe society needs rules for it to function. It is an unfashionable concept, but without these limits, things break down as we are now seeing. Examples: non-functioning schools, lack of border control, trans ideology.

I also think that the entire world is slowly developing a homogeneous culture which is created online and the consequences are seen in real life. The gist of it seems to be “anything goes”. We (because I’m not exempt!) find our “tribe” based on how our decorate our house, how strongly we feel about wind farms or if euthanasia should be allowed etc. Then we feel validated and like we belong and often that we are fighting for a good cause.

But this separates us from the people in real life who are actually around us. Without the internet, we are forced to have more community, to know one another, to see a wider range of views and ultimately to rub along - until someone transgresses the aforementioned rules of society.

I suspect there may be no way back for us.

What on Earth does this mean?

They are a shit teacher?

Some kids have always been unteachable. It's nothing new.

My son has been dumped in a mainstream when he needs to be in a specialist placement. That doesn't help other kids either.

YourTruthorMine · 14/09/2023 20:21

The world is run by psychopaths and malignant narcissists, they are at the top of every industry - politics, business, entertainment, you name it. Yet people seem in denial or prefer to look the other way. You've only got to see the replies on here when someone identifies a child who may have empathy issues, they are quickly shut down and their parenting is blamed.

That children and young people are becoming ‘unteachable’

i presume thats always the case in history, seems we need a better system for the ones that cannot be taught in a traditional classroom

NoMoreShit · 14/09/2023 20:28

The absolute scandal that is the Child Maintenance Service. For each deadbeat dad, there is a taxpayer footing the bill. And we're not talking hard up dad's here, we're talking working men who flat refuse to contribute to the raising of their children & our toothless system lets them! It needs sorting out for the benefit of mothers, tax payers & most importantly the children.

Yes, I acknowledge there'll be outliers of opposite sex. But I refuse to erase the misogyny of this because a small amount of men get caught in the crossfire.

Hawkins0009 · 14/09/2023 20:29

the galaxies could be full of other civilization's, and humanity needs a one world government and an Galactic Empire

LindorDoubleChoc · 14/09/2023 20:38

The babies and children of internet influencers. Quite soon they are going to grow up and many of them will object to you exposing their every tiny development to the world and monetising their very existence. And it will get ugly.

molotovcupcakes · 14/09/2023 21:16

The demographic collapse.
Only 3% of the world now has a population that is rising.
China’s population will halve in the next 50 years.
Economically many countries will not be able to function on the same way that we have since the end of the Second World War as there will be a reduction in young workers and consumers to buy goods and pay taxes to fund social care.
Europe will be badly hit by this especially Germany the manufacturing hub of Europe, Eastern Europe and Italy.

wheresmymojo · 14/09/2023 21:33

That everything else in this list, including climate change, pales into meaningless insignificance compared to the risk and rewards of AI.

That most leading AI experts expect us to have AGI within the next 5 years - that's AI that is as capable as humans across a broad general range of tasks.

That this means massive and fast paced Industrial Revolution size change in the next five years.

That many leading experts predict that we will have AI superintelligence in the next 10-20 years and that more than 50% of AI experts believe this poses more than 10% probability of being the end of humanity.

(These are not crackpot theories, they are genuine expert predictions from people whose previous predictions have either been pretty accurate or actually thought it would take 25 years longer to get where we are now....so not prone to hyperbole).

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 14/09/2023 21:53

Throughout history civilisations have risen and fallen:- Romans, Mayans, various Chinese dynasties etc. Each one overdepended on a finite resource which failed, leading to societal collapse. Right now we are coming to the end of the fossil fuel era. Probably not a max max apocalypse, but a catabolic collapse over the next hundred years or so. Alternative energy sources may help cushion the descent, but will not save us as EROEI insufficient and not enough fossil fuels left to build the required infrastructure. Our current run of crises will stabilise for a few years, then we will have the next run of crises as we gradually stairstep our way down and down.

That recycling and a bit of renewable energy will not save the planet. Current forms of civilisation will need to collapse and we will have to return to a pre-industrial society if the planet and humanity are to co-exist.

If we don't, humans will die out, but the planet will adapt and go on.

You said it better than me.

Also, when the harvest fails, that will be it - and there aren't very many harvests left.
