Bird poo really?! Any car experts ?!

We bought a car less than two weeks ago, 5 years old from a dealer. Didn't get a full view of the black car roof until today when cleaning on steps. Noticed that some paint seems to be eroded with the white underneath showing ?!

I have emailed the dealer who have said it looks like bird lime and they have seen it in the last week with hot weather and there isn't much they can do 🙄 I have spent a lot of money 😩

Have you actually tried washing it off? I mean surely you have? Because that would surely be any reasonable person's first reaction when faced with a car which looks to be covered in a bit of bird poo? Not to contact the dealer? So you did that, right? Because if so you can reply to the dealer saying it doesn't wash off, and if you didn't you're a complete and utter wally.

Bird poo is really corrosive to car paint work. It needs to be removed straight away if you want to keep your. At looking shiny!

Yep, that’s bird shit. A machine polish might reduce it somewhat but painting the whole roof will be the only way to sort it.

That is clean! There's no bird poo on it, the paint work is all corroded and creasy looking in places and the white specs is the paint showing underneath (it's a white car with a black roof)

My car has this. We just live with it. It still drives fine 🤷🏻‍♀️
