as a new person on here to expect some of my posts to be acknowledged?

I joined this site recently, thinking it might be a friendly place to chat to other mums, but how wrong I was- I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall. All my posts are totally ignored. Do newbies not warrant any acknowledgement?

Hi Petlamb! Welcome to MN! Please don't feel ignored. I am pretty new too (joined Dec) and sometimes felt like my posts got a bit lost in active convos, but it's mostly because the threads move so quickly and by the time some people have typed replies about 10 more people have posted.
Also, I think that there are some people who have been MNing for quite a few years and 'know' other mners really well.
Most MNers are really friendly, honest!

SugarSkyHigh · 03/03/2008 20:21

Petlamb's gone off to namechange

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 20:22

What to, slaughtered lamb. Sacrificial lamb, maybe

SugarSkyHigh · 03/03/2008 20:24

roasted lamb?

SugarSkyHigh · 03/03/2008 20:25

perhaps something less cuddly.
Rabid killer lamb perhaps? might scare people into response

hecate · 03/03/2008 20:25

Hello Petlamb! tbh, I think most people don't really notice who they are talking to, it's just a load of voices all yelling over each other - iyswim . So relax. Nobody is ignoring you in particular!

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 20:27

Pmsl at rabid killer lamb!

Emprexia · 03/03/2008 20:29

There's a lot of people on here.. it takes a while to settle in.. don't worry, just keep posting!

theyoungvisiter · 03/03/2008 20:30

ah, well you're not doing badly now! 59 responses and counting . Never say that mumsnet doesn't do its best to please...

warthog · 03/03/2008 20:33

i've been on here for 2.5 years and most of my posts get ignored. i even have a couple of unanswered threads. that's ok - i get so much from mn that it doesn't bother me anymore.

Divastrop · 03/03/2008 20:33

i have replied to you on the anti-depressant thread.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 03/03/2008 20:36

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that the least petlamb could do is respond to our responses to her posts?

controlfreakyagain · 03/03/2008 20:36

Youcannotbeserious · 03/03/2008 20:41

I think there are a few topics which are certain to get a few responses..

Dog lovers v dog haters
Non parents parking in M&T spaces
SAHM v Working mums

I am sure there are more... start one of those and you'll be here for hours!!

JaneHH · 03/03/2008 20:42

while we're waiting... have somehow managed to hide my internet explorer menus by some magic secret letter combination. No function key seems to get it back... anyone any idea?

er as you were [bleat]

"The Silence of the Lamb"

ROFL! Genius! I am ill today with tonsillitis and that's the first thing that's made me smile all day practically.
