I recently started a new job 2 days a week. This will be my 4th week.

About an hour ago I had some hemorroids banded. I was told I'd only feel minor discomfort.
My god I'm in excruciating pain. I've taken 5 cocodamol.. I like to think I'm good with pain as I've had 2 babies without anything but this is something else.

AIBU to contact my boss now and say I might not possibly be in tomorrow? Or would you wait? I'm not sure I'm going to get much sleep or be able to drive on this amount of painkiller...

After 5 cocodamol you should be sleeping now! Also, don’t take more. There is paracetamol in them and it can cause liver damage if you take too many, avoid paracetamol too for the same reason.

Yes, phone them. Just tell them you’ve had a procedure and are in significant discomfort so may not be able to come in.
I hope things feel better quickly.

Yes, just call in and say you've had a procedure and it's more involved/painful than anticipated.

Hope you get some rest.

You’re unwell. Of course just call and say you are likely to be off.
hope the pain eases for you soon.
