Thank god I’m not working and have a sense of humour

have accidentally changed language to mandarin, Chinese, I don’t even know

youtube videos no help

tried factory reset but don’t know if it’s worked but it’s definitely not English

what do I do please? If I screenshot it does anyone know the right buttons to press?

I promise to die of embarrassment but I would like to fix this before I do that 😂😂😂

If you've got an iPhone, the operating system will be roughly the same. Follow the steps to change language on the iPhone and replicate what buttons you pressed to get there on the iPad.

Tried that but set up must be different

Then your answer is thus:

  1. Download the Google Translate app on your phone
  2. Use the 'Camera' function on the app to have everything within camera view translated from 'Detect Language' to English.
  3. Use the English translations of any foreign language within camera view on your phone screen to change the language setting on the iPad.

OP, on my iPad, icon I circled on your pic is for “General” setting#.
Tap on that. language and region is the 12 th from the top.
I am too afraid to tap anything further in case I change the language!

Thanks so much

weird thing though - the bit where you updates is still in Chinese. No idea why that would that happen.

*do updates

Still no solution to "updates" being in Chinese. You have to laugh.

but if anyone knows the answer to solving that, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

It'll probably sort itself out at the next update. Or try turning it off and back on again. If it's just that bit it doesn't matter massively.

Oh crap. I used up all my tech skills on the language thing.

Good luck.

You are a lifesaver! Don’t worry, I just hope it sorts itself out.
