To be thinking he must be on a date

I have been seeing a guy for a while. Both in our mid 20s. We agreed very recently that we would see each other elusively and that we both really like each other and can see a future together.

I have just been on Instagram has he has put a story up and he’s in the cinema. The photo showed his hands and he is holding 2 tickets for the Barbie movie. Aibu to think surely he must be on a date? I don’t see why he would go to this movie with a friend. I can’t see that happening anyway and it must be a date because he’s holding both tickets, so he must have paid for them both? Therefore surely a date.. I’m not sure what to think

I wouldn’t ask him tonight as you will look paranoid and clingy…….I doubt he is on a date as he wouldn’t have posted anything if he was…..just drop it into conversation tomorrow

Does he have a sister/daughter? Id say the fact that he's uploaded to Instagram doesn't seem like he has a guilty secret. Why not just ask him? It's not odd to say Hey just saw your insta n wad surprised yd been to Barbie. Was it a joke? Did you really go? Oh you did! Who with?

Do you follow each other on Instagram or did you just look? Could he have forgotten you have him on there? Maybe he has gone with a female friend.

We do follow each other on Instagram and he knows I will see it as he has his stories set to ‘close friends’. so only people he has selected on a list of who he follows will be able to see his story. He sometimes sends me funny Instagram reels on chat on there too

Have you asked him? I wouldn't do it in an accusatory way, just how was the barbie movie who did you end up going with? And see what he says?

Is he an influencer? That’s the only reason I can think of for anyone else who follows him to be interested in his cinema trip

Can you see the date on thectckets? Is it tomorrow? Maybe he has bought the tickets to take you and posting pictures s supposed to be a fun way to tell you?

He'll be surprised when you don't, and it will get him thinking. When you don't bring it up, I bet he does. Especially if he knows you've seen it.

Not bringing it up and waiting for his reaction to that, will tell you everything you need to know. But for me, I'd be thinking it was very purposeful and that the guys a head fuck better off gone.
