To feel like I'm wasting my weekend?

I'm an introvert, I find interactions with people of any kind mentally exhausting. This week I finished work Thursday for the weekend and my daughter went to her dads Thursday for the weekend.

Thursday evening I met a friend and went a walk in the woods with the dogs. Then home, some wine and dinner and movie and sleep.

Yesterday I met a friend and went a 6 mile walk and grabbed some lunch then just relaxed the rest of the day.

There is a big event going on in my town that I thought I might attend but there's going to be over 100,000 people there and this morning I've woken up and decided not to bother. I have an appointment to get my eyebrows done this morning and that's about it. And tomorrow I'm doing absolutely nothing as back at work Monday. Will probably have some wine tonight.

However, I just feel that by not going to this big event I am essentially wasting my weekend. AIBU to feel this way?

It depends how you define waste doesn't it?

Personally, I would consider going to an event I'd hate a waste of a Saturday.

Sounds good to me!

I'm cleaning the chickens out and then researching a new buisness venture this afternoon. Did a 6k run on the treadmill this morning for my exercise.

The thought of coping with crowds of people, in this heat, is not appealing!

You've already done plenty of socialising. It's going to be possibly one of the last warm weekends this year. If you have a garden I'd be making the most of chilling there.

To be honest, your weekend sounds amazing to me!! Add a glass of wine in the garden this evening and it’s perfect!

Okay I am glad I'm not some sort of unsociable ogre staying home today 😂

Sounds like a good weekend to me. You've done lots and got a day for relaxing. Perfect weekend as far as I'd be concerned.

Not at all.

I used to be on the go constantly and until I started therapy, I realized that sometimes we just need to chill and do "nothing".

I no longer care if there's an event/night out etc. If I am not feeling it, I simply say no and stay at home and chill out.

We need to listen to our needs and our bodies more.

I hope you don't think this is a weird response- Ive always noticed your replies on other peoples posts but never seen you start a thread before. This little insight into life sounds so nice- relaxed weekend seeing a couple of friends & lots if time to relax sounds perfect! I hope you have a great weekend!

Your weekend sound bliss! And chances are you’ll start next week feeling refreshed and rested. Perfect - enjoy!

It's only a waste if there's something else you'd rather be doing and haven't.

I'm wearing a t shirt and knickers and lying around the house doing naff all today. It's too hot. I'm alternating between the shady spot in the garden and the house (which is cooler).

I'm not wasting the day - I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing right now!
