Don't know, never tried. But I saw on television that professional tea tasters slurp tea to get the full flavour, so perhaps it's the same with coffee.

All that air spoils the taste, so slurping spoils the coffee for me. I wouldn't be having coffee with someone who slurps audibly though. It was ingrained in my from my earliest years that slurping is terrible manners.

Do what you like when there’s no-one else around (or within earshot), but audible slurping is revolting.

Don't EVER slurp around me I have a very low tolerance theshold, noisy eaters and drinkers are asked politely but if they are arses about it I am vu and they soon know it.

It actually does! When you cup (taste) coffee you have to slurp it off a special type of spoon! (And I have to wear headphones because I have misophonia)

I slurp it when alone 😁 it does taste better!
Wine tasters slurp too. Something to do with bringing oxygen in to intensify the flavours. Or something like that.
