Hi

im getting plastic surgery on my face in 3 weeks time. It’s something I’ve been extremely self conscious about and embarrassed about for my entire life and after the surgery I won’t be anymore. I’m so excited to be comfortable with how i look for the first time ever in my life but I’m also terrified suddenly about it all. I’m not sure what in particular but the whole thing is suddenly worrying me🫣 does anyone have any advice or tips? Thanks in advance

No advice, never had it done myself. Sounds like it’s something you’ve thought about for a long time rather than a trendy whim?

yeah definitely, I’ve been wanting it done for my entire life tbh x

I've had two lots of plastic surgery and I think it's normal to be a little bit anxious in the weeks leading up to it, it is surgery and it is changing a physical feature you've had all your life.

So long as you're fully confident in your surgeon (lots of good reviews?) And you both have a clear goal for what you're aiming for/are on the same page then I'm sure it'll be great :) good luck!

I had rhinoplasty 6 years ago. I was utterly terrified I would wake up looking different and overly done. It was bloody sore and 2 black eyes but not a bit of regret. I got exactly what I wanted and although it took a good 8 months for the swelling to fully go I am delighted with the result. Have faith and take it one step at a time remembering your full result won’t be clear for 6-9mth once swelling has gone down. No regrets here

I had my nose done twice and my daughter had hers done last year. It’s not as simple as going in and looking one way and coming out and looking completely different. You probably won’t.
First of all I guarantee your nose isn’t as bad as you think it is but if it bothers you then it’s good to get it done. Just don’t expect other people to notice. I had mine done over twenty years ago and it is vastly different to how it was but in all those years only one person has said to me that I looked different.
Secondly it takes about a year for the swelling to go down so you have to wait to see the full effect. When you see it for the first time, you might feel a little disappointed. People think the bandages come off and BAM you’re a different person! That’s not what happens. I have no doubt you will see differences but it all takes a while to get used to.
Having said this I am so glad I had mine done and my daughter is also glad she did too. I was so self conscious about my nose before surgery that I couldn’t mention to anyone that I hated it so much as I was so embarrassed. If I was around people I would sit and try to cover it,so I’d pretend I was scratching it or something so I could put my hand over it. I was really bad. My nose now is far from perfect but I’m so relieved to be rid of the one I had.
The surgery is not a big deal. I woke up with a headache and the day after I had huge, swollen black eyes but they weren’t painful.
I hope it goes well for you and you’re pleased with the results. Keep us posted!
