I live in a small street. Just a little way in behind a back garden is a small piece of council land. The land is about 2.5 x 5 meters, there are a couple of trees planted there.
Some people, 4 or so, have started hanging around there in the evenings - they hide themselves behind the trees in a tight spot. The space is right next to a couple of parking spaces. I have seen the people try the handles of cars parked there and also they have been seen looking through the bins in at least a couple of the houses.
Obviously the trying of car door handles and rooting through bins isn’t great but hanging around behind the trees feels intimidating. I feel sorry for the person whose garden they back onto as they are very loud.
Is there anything that can be done?
Juat so I don’t drip feed these people hang around the town centre during the day claiming to be homeless, they hang around behind the trees until late but don’t sleep there.
