Have got home from a shift in a care home at 9pm and the heat has been intolerable ! As a team I cannot praise the staff enough! All melting ,tired etc but can honestly say the residents got the most amazing care from the fabulous carers ..just posting this because not every carehome has poor care ..today has been really inspiring for me as a registered nurse and restores my faith in humanity and how brilliant poorly paid workers can work and care 💕

That sounds lovely and it must be great for you and your amazing team. Sadly most places are not like this.

Well done OP! I'm glad you and your team have managed to have a good day, in this terrible heat, it can't be easy. You should be proud of yourselves for making the lives of those who can't take care of themselves tolerable in these difficult circumstances.

That's a very unfair comment to say that "most"
Places aren't like that.

Have you any idea of what care and support workers go through on a daily basis? How much they care for their residents?

I was a care worker at one point and me and my colleagues tried our damdest to enrich the lives of every single person in our care.

My DM was a carer for 15 years. She was amazing at that job before she had to retire. She grieved every resident she lost as if they were her own family.
