Wallpapering - llama's feet. Aibu?

Employed a professional decorator to hang this cute llama wallpaper in my loo, but when he'd gone and I was sitting "on the throne" I noticed he'd hung it in such a way that the top line where the wall meets the ceiling is a line of disembodied feet.

Aibu to think he should have cut the paper so that the top line depicts whole llamas?

As PP have said that's a terrible job for a professional decorator OP.

You should ask for a refund.

I would have started with whole llamas at dado height because that's your immediate focus but partial llamas at ceiling height would annoy me too... I think I'm going to go with team coving on this one!

But...surely that was just the top of the roll when he first unrolled it? So that was where he started I'm guessing 🤷‍♀️ I'm mean...yeah, I'd have sliced that first top bit off, but as a bloke he probably just didn't think about the 'foot aesthetics' 🤷‍♀️🤣

He's a professional decorator. Part of his job is to "think about the aesthetics" and, since he's being paid to do something in a particular way, to arrange how it should be done with the person hiring him. It's not like OP's partner was a bit careless doing it as a DIY job.

Looking at the two photos you've provided then yes I can see why you are annoyed. The bottom bit should have started with the llamas walking on the rail and the top you have then ended with a full llama. Did you ask him to do that op before he started or just assume he would realise?

Thanks for all the responses. A lot of posters think he has done a very poor job. I paid him £20 an hour. I was sitting just a staircase away, he could have asked me anything anytime.

The other problem is that he forgot a whole strip of paper left of the door, which looks really odd.

Yes, it should have worked from the way down with the full image, and then had what was left of part of the image at the bottom.

Was the wallpaper bought like that, or did he cut it like that?
if so isn't the printing of the wallpaper faulty?

£20 an hour is cheap, he’s done a poor job. A professional would charge more but do a much better job.

Can you paint the strip next to the door with a blue tester pot?

Paint scraper blade for the window, will only take a few minutes.

Put it down the experience and enjoy your llamas.
