Redundancies at work- time to get out?

There was an announcement today about redundancies at work. At the moment these are restricted to one team that does not have enough work and where there is no imminent prospect of recovery.

However, there was a strong hint that there would be wider cuts if other teams do not get busier soon. My area of the business isn’t quiet but it’s not particularly busy either.

Should I be looking to jump before I’m potentially pushed?

Get your CV ready and see what happens - it might be nice to go into a new job with a redundancy payment in your bank account.

Ideally you want to line up a new job to start once you are made redundant so you get the payout and walk straight into a new job.

Definitely get looking. As well as it making financial sense to go now, it is also about mood and atmosphere. Places never feel great to work in when people are getting the chop.
