For feeling guilty being off work with covid

Onthebrinkk · 06/09/2023 08:59

I have not long started a new job. Last week i started to feel ill and this turned into feeling like death on the weekend. I took a covid test on Sunday and it was positive. I spoke to work and they advised their policy is i need to be off until my test is negative.

I still feel under the weather and feverish today and still testing positive. I have to check in with management daily. Onr manager told me to take the time I need, even if I’m negative I could still be ill. Another manager said it’s unusual i’m still testing positive.. now i feel guilty despite it being their policy. I feel I have to prove myself

Don’t feel guilty, if that’s their policy why would you. And is the other manager a Dr.
I tested positive for 13 days, my mum obviously a lot older tested positive for 21 days. Just concentrate on getting better.

Why would you feel guilty. It's their policy. You'd be in trouble for not following it.

Please take the time you need to recover and test negative. Second manager is being unhelpful, if you go in and infect everyone that will just make things worse for everyone! I tested positive for 13 days.

Hi @Onthebrinkk
Ignore the other managers comment. Don't feel guilty at all. Look after yourself and take rest xx

I understand why you feel like this, you sound like a nice thoughtful person.Don't feel guilty at all, you are following works policy.
COVID is no joke, I've had it, felt so ill and tested positive for 8 days
Get well soon
