I'd have super-low expectations but just because at this stage often things fizzle out or the match disappears or turns into weirdo/sex hound. But I wouldn't call it an immediate red flag.

I couldn't reply to that, I'm no grammar / spelling authoritarian but it does make me irrationally angry that they couldn't be arsed to spell check

I would continue a conversation and see, dyslexia or just learning English could be the reasons and might be a great person behind that message just struggling to communicate.

Hmm, what time did you get the message? Looks like my typing when I'm drunk!! I have a close relative who's dyslexic and it doesn't really look like that with spaces in amongst the words and random letters. It would be more like 'interesting' being autocorrected to 'interning' or something like that.

What's wrong with a simple greeting? And frankly, what's the point of writing an opening essay when you get the sort of response I did?

What it does show is that he hasn’t copied and pasted a message, which is apparently what many people do on dating sites and just send it to everyone.
