I've not watched TM since Ruth & Eamon and was off sick today so flicking channels. At the start of the program, Alison jumped on Jason Donovan to the laughter of Holly who said she 'mounted him' It was gutter TV and very unprofessional. I wonder what the reaction would have been if the mounting was the other way round? Shockingly bad presenters.

Alison Hammond launched herself on top of him. The poor bloke was trapped. Jason Donovan is a nice guy and not the type to voice negative comments, he's always only nice in interviews.

Yes he was laughing and maybe he did find it funny but Hammond needs to understand that if a woman was sitting on the sofa and a bloke launched himself on top of her it would be so frowned upon. Imagine if Jason or Peter had jumped up on to the sofa and launched themselves on top of Holly.

And what did she grab on him in the dressing room beforehand?

Alison Hammond needs to tone it down, I don't watch This morning any more because her laugh makes me want to rip my ears from my head and her 'babes' and all about her makes me want to drink vodka in the morning. She's ruined so many programmes she better not ruin GBBO.

babbscrabbs · 06/09/2023 10:10

EVERYONE at my place of work loves Alison. They think she's a breath of fresh air. I quite like her, certainly more than Holly and Phil.

Rochelle and Marvin I like too, mostly as they're so pretty to look at.

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 06/09/2023 10:15

Can't stand Hammond.......she goes way OTT and has serious boundary issues, I'll never forget the elderly lady she bombarded who was going to be all alone on mothers day. She looked so sad and overwhelmed and the woman and the others around her just would not let up, I was cringing 😳

Anothershitusername · 06/09/2023 10:15

Bring back Richard and Judy ,they were the best imo
I like it when it’s a married couple on ,being themselves and having the odd disagreement .
I can’t watch it with holly on ,I agree she’s only there because of her husband
she should of left with ps..she dropped him like a stone to save her own skin ,he was supposed to be her friend ,the families holidayed together, nah ,won’t watch it while she’s on

Craig Doyal is on today, he is OK

OhYetAnotherBrickInTheWall · 06/09/2023 10:25

Holly’s husband has nothing to do with her having the job. He runs his own, separate production company (which does make shows featuring Holly but TM is not one of them).

She’s there because she has a contract, because ITV have no real idea what to do with the show, can’t afford to ditch it yet (still brings in revenue although that is massively decreasing) and don’t know what to replace it with. They realise ditching Ruth and Eamon was a huge mistake.

I am in no way a HW fan at all - can’t abide her - but saying she’s there because of her husband is lazy and sexist.

Also, interestingly, the Daily Mail are still gunning for her. Unflattering photos of her and a slightly snidey attitude in the reporting. She was their epitome of womanhood this time a year ago…

namechangelecturer · 06/09/2023 10:28

To be fair, the tower block comment was a direct quote from the ITV executives.

LadyBird1973 · 06/09/2023 10:30

I don't know if it's lazy or sexist tbh - itv seems so incestuous, with the same small number of presenters doing everything, and signed to the same agencies, that it's not beyond the realms of possibility that X person gets a job because their spouse has influence in the wider context, even if they aren't directly connected to that particular show.
Was it a coincidence that PS daughter worked at the talent agency that he and iirc Rochelle and others were signed to? Maybe, maybe not.

OhYetAnotherBrickInTheWall · 06/09/2023 11:00

You're not wrong about PS daughters at all - he was a founding shareholder in the talent agency. It's absolutely how they got the job (but it's also not beyond the realms of possibility that they had an aptitude for the industry - just like doctors are often the children of doctors).

However, HW husband has nothing to do with the decision making around her staying on TM. He wants and needs his company to get commissions across all the channels - he stays well out of that particular political hot potato.

LadyBird1973 · 06/09/2023 11:04

Yes I'm sure he's not directly involved.

I just can't see what makes HW so desirable as a presenter that itv value her so much - the viewers clearly aren't on board, if the programme was getting booed at the NTAs.

Flufferblub · 06/09/2023 11:09

Load of old bollocks. Just fluffy nonsense. (I don't like it)

OhYetAnotherBrickInTheWall · 06/09/2023 11:10

She’s under contract. They can’t just sack her like they were able to with PS (well, they forced his hand). She’s done nothing wrong.

They know the series is dying. They don’t know how to revive or replace it. They know she’s toast. She won’t be there after her contract is up for renewal.

Greenpolkadot · 06/09/2023 11:16

Sadly Allison is a bit like a jiggly titties barmaid..
Loud and gobby.

I'm glad Repair Shop won an award. Its a feel good programme .

LadyBird1973 · 06/09/2023 11:18

While I'm not a fan, and o believe she knew about PS relationship with the runner, what with them being 'besties' and all, I also believe she wasn't alone in this and therefore shouldn't be the only one to carry the can over it. She's the face of the programme but it's problems run deeper than her. I wonder what their enquiry will show.

I love Alison. She’s an absolute joy. I love that she doesn’t fit the usual tv stereotype, and while not everything she does is funny (the BAFTA segments this year were cringe), she’s a damn sight more watchable and genuine than smug and insincere Holly, or anodyne robot Rochelle.

Yes, I like Alyson because she isn't perfect and can be funny.

I really don't like the Irish guy who is on today. He is so false and irritating. I really hope he doesn't get the full time job.

To be fair, I record the programme and fast forward through anything too cringy like the Jason Donovan interview.

She really isn't and you know it.

threecupsofteaminimum · 06/09/2023 12:20

I can assure you I don't worry about it. I know it sounds otherwise here but really the theme here is power endorsing and allowing bad behaviour and that's a bigger issue across society.

threecupsofteaminimum · 06/09/2023 12:23

Lazy and sexist? Sorry but not even close! Informed and impartial here.

Jackydaytona · 06/09/2023 12:24

Hiphopopotamonster · 06/09/2023 09:01

And the dog whistle stereotypes going on here are horrible.

I was merely quoting an ex itv this morning employee !
Fgs doesnt mean I agree with it!

MrsSlocombesCat · 06/09/2023 12:32

What I dislike about Holly is her giggly sweet girl persona on screen while she’s actually a ruthless money grabber. I never liked Philip Schofield - for a similar reason. I cannot believe Holly didn’t know what was going on, it’s almost impossible that she didn’t know about PS and the runner boy. Not only did they present together they were friends. Yet she dropped him like a hot brick to protect her own career because she’s all about the money. I am glad to read on here that others see through the veneer of sickly sweet big smiles.

LadyBird1973 · 06/09/2023 12:39

I think this is her real problem - you can't position yourself as best friends, then distance yourself when the 'bestie' image is no longer beneficial to you. The viewers don't like it.

OMG Rochelle and Marvin Humes! I like that music quiz they do, but they are both sooo boring and insipid!

Mary46 · 06/09/2023 13:01

Yes I find H very silly this fake giggling. I do like Josie and Rochelle

Willmafrockfit · 06/09/2023 07:28

Alison is the epitome of uncouth but i guess she appeals to someone somewhere

Well considering the team behind This Morning are said to refer to their audience demographic as "tower block Traceys", they likely think that's what the viewer wants.

WildFlowerBees · 06/09/2023 13:05

I don't watch TM but I think Alison will bring some fun to the Bake Off, Noel is so unfunny I think CH4 are trying to bring back the Mel & Sue feeling with Alison.
