Where to return this ring to?

I found a ring tonight in a co op car park in north london. It was underneath my car and I saw it and picked it up. Went into the co op but could only see young staff and no manager to be found. I have no idea if the ring is worth anything, have googled, looks to be a dirty diamond of some description possibly, large stone, hallmark on inside of band so set on a real band of gold.
What do you think would be the best way to reunite this ring with its owner? Take in to the co op and hand into manager or take to the police station but that is a few miles away. Mens ring I think, hard to tell. Slighlty old fashioned but could be valuable. Thanks.

Thanks @Pix56 but I'm not on fb. Will take to the nearest police station and maybe they can do something on fb.

Ask a friend or family member who is on Facebook or next door to post on your behalf?

Anywhere near Northumberland Avenue?

If it was Crouch End I can post on a local group for you.

Take a photo to put on local Facebook group saying that you've handed it in to police station

No, no photo nor detailed description, just state what you found and where, then if the genuine owner comes to claim it, they must provide a clear description before they get to see it, to prove that it's really theirs, and that they're not just some chancer.

ETA although it's a bit late now since you've already described it here. It's best always to be vague about lost valuables imo.

Oh dear, this is why it should have been handed in straight away or the staff at least told you had it. Hopefully the staff took a number from the person, because I’m not sure I’d keep checking back again and again if I’d already been told my item hadn’t been found.
