So my teenager daughter she’s just turned 18 has has met a bf which has turned out to be a boy who was in a group that badly bullied my older son to the extent he left high school and has had to now re do a lot of education he is 20 in a good place now but obviously wants this boy no where near our family home which of course is upsetting my daughter I had hoped she would just swerve this relationship as they only just met completely new to each other out of loyalty for her brother but no she hasn’t which i find disappointing AIBU 😔

sorry but she needs to take a hard look at herself. why would you date a bully? moreover a bully that tormented your own brother! i would be so angry and think i'd give her an ultimatum

Exactly this has what’s been told to her we are a big family he has 2 other older sisters The boy is claiming he can’t remember being that involved but that doesn’t matter to me my son can and was effected by it Daughter however is saying she won’t stop talking to him 😔

How old was the boy when he bullied your son? A lot of growing up can happen between 13 and 20 for example.
I understand why your son wouldn't want to see him, but if he's different now your daughter might see that

sadmumma86 · 02/09/2023 20:39

Was during the ages of 13/14/15 he left the school without exams or anything at 15 because of it all he actually tried to take his life she doesn’t know that as obviously she was younger but it happened 😔

Tell your daughter exactly what happened; how much it has affected her brother, all the pain and suffering it’s caused. She’s not too young anymore. Then ask her again if that’s the sort of person she wants to date. I’d be livid too and I’d be making it very clear that he will never be welcomed by you.

She knows he won’t be in here ever or any of her sisters homes Im hoping it doesn’t last but it still won’t change that she’s made this choice i am very big on loyalty and family i thought all my kids were too they definitely know where i stand on it I am angry and hurt that’s she’s doing this They met at work was so happy when she got the wee job but now wish she bloody never 😒
