What happened in the end?

OP posts:
Flowersforbees · 02/09/2023 12:53

Ooh, I forgot about that but I'd like to know too.

OldTinHat · 02/09/2023 13:03

The builder doing the renovations finally returned OPs calls and let her in to get the cat. Unfortunately, home owner is a CF and demanded £££££££££s in damages caused by the cat.

chineapplepunks · 02/09/2023 13:04

What kind of damage did the cat do?!

Fancylike · 02/09/2023 13:06

Was it deleted? Was getting very OTT very quickly.

dontletsaskforthemoon · 02/09/2023 13:07

He peed on the rug and laminate flooring. House owners are asking for around £1600 I think? To buy new rug and replace flooring plus re paint the walls and buy a new cat flap. 😬

newnamethanks · 02/09/2023 13:09

Just pee? I wouldn't want to come home to the leavings of a trapped cat. Nor would I want to clean up.

Scratched the walls, the OP ruined part of the bathroom floor and a rug, as well as the cat flap. But what they asked for was ridiculous.

44PumpLane · 02/09/2023 13:11

The cat peed on a rug and the new owner wants it replaced at £800 because otherwise their cat will forever pee on it.

They want £200 to replace a vent that the original OP broke by forcing M&S wafer thin han through 😂

They want something like £200 to fix the damaged cat flat inside and then a further £4-600 to professionally fix the internal paint work, window sill paint work and wooden flooring that were all damaged by either the original OP or her cat.

They didn't want to claim on their home insurance and have the excess paid by the thread starter as it would increase their premiums in future years, and they didn't want a professional rug clean as their cat would still pee on it. They also didn't want to let the thread starter to access their house and sort the cosmetic bits, rather they wanted a professional to come in.

I think the poster was going to offer them £200 and see what they said!

Needless to say relationships are soured before they even started. 😂

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 02/09/2023 13:53

It did seem to peter out at the end of the third thread, didn't it? It was a bit like if you're on the phone to somebody and you still have a few more minor things to say, but if you accidentally get cut off, nothing important enough to bother calling again.

Even so, I would have liked to hear the resolution about how the neighbour reacted to being told by OP that she would pay them 10% of the cost of the damage done by her pet, but only as 'goodwill'!

All the troll-hunting and 'did ye, aye?' (which ironically filled up the thread) made a fourth thread very unlikely - even if it was all 100% true, the very existence of a fourth thread would have been considered proof-positive to many that OP was a troll.

Ella31 · 02/09/2023 15:20

I remember from the first post the op saying their cat had a habit of breaking into houses and it wouldn't be fair to keep him inside, but I think it's completely unacceptable that a pet is getting away with this. If I came back to mu new house damaged by someone else's pet, I'd be livid.

Ella31 · 02/09/2023 15:24

Just read the original op where they said he's been breaking in for ages to others houses, and if I kept him in, he'd hate it. So not much i can do. 😒 I'm sure homeowners hate having their property defaced as well.

menopausalmare · 02/09/2023 15:28

The crab stick cat story made it into the Daily Mirror yesterday.

Exactly, me too. She seemed a bit casual about it all really.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 02/09/2023 15:33

@Ella31 same. Don’t understand why people should have to be responsible for other peoples choices to have ‘pets’. OP should pay and look at a catio if it’s known for this and she can’t keep it in

Exactly, it was the line "nothing I can do about it" that got me.

Keep your cat in. It's a menace 🤣

CalistoNoSolo · 02/09/2023 15:59

The only CF on that thread was the owner of the cat that broke in and pissed everywhere.

Legale · 02/09/2023 16:01

My goodness that OP is a CF. Poor new owners already have a nightmare neighbour and they haven't even moved in!

Exactly. But posters here and there reckon it’s CF behaviour to expect OP to pay for the damaged her cat did. Allow her access to do the cosmetic work… as fucking if, the Cheeky Cunt has already caused loads of damage, would I fuck want her in my house.

I hate the cats that poo in my garden, but to be fair to the cat, it shouldn't have been able to get in to the house in the first place and if it could then the owners should have ensured that it could get out.

I disagree. If your cat uses catflaps it shouldn't you should make sure you keep it in. It's nobodys fault but the OP that her cat got in and couldn't get out. But then I think by law all cats should be kept indoors or in a catio.

TheLongGloriesOfTheWinterMoon · 02/09/2023 16:46

After 48,000 threads with the drama getting ramped up more and more as the fans begged for more totes hilaires details and the "nah" posters "nah'd" the OP disappeared

Lovehearts82 · 02/09/2023 16:50

I dont know what happened after thread 3 but it's in the local news and the mirror.

TroysMammy · 02/09/2023 16:52

Who has a cat flap in an empty not lived in house that allows random cats in but they need a compatible microchip to get out? The people who own the house should bear some responsibility for the cat getting in in the first place.

Shoving crabsticks and inserting ham through a vent was totally bonkers but having my own cat trapped in a shed, but I didn't know where he was for 4 days and 3 nights, I can understand the desperation.
