It’s such a funny time of the year. It went dark so much more quickly tonight, it felt like.
I adore autumn..when it comes, but just feel so weird in the middle stage…summer ending, it feels a bit sad and panicky, anyone else? In a few weeks/a month when autumn kicks in, I’ll be happy and settled into it, so weird.

I agree with everything single thing you are saying. This year has flown by and it’s so strange to accept that’s it’s the first day of autumn.

Extremelycowgirl · 01/09/2023 20:52

‘In the middle stage’ sums it up perfectly. It’s chilly here tonight and has that autumn smell
to it but it’s still summer and the warm weather is back next week.

No it isn't.

buzzlightyearsgloves · 01/09/2023 20:53

I know it's not, but I feel this year the dark nights are creeping up on us a lot quicker!

JenniferBarkley · 01/09/2023 20:54

I think it's worse this year because the summer was so very shit. Feels like we're all waiting for it to start, not end.

Iwouldlovetohavecheekbones · 01/09/2023 20:55

@buzzlightyearsgloves It definitely feels like it’s gone too fast, I feel like I need a few more weeks of the summer feeling…I never feel ready for it.

I get the same in feb/March time. Christmas is past and winter is ending but it's not warm enough to get in the garden. I ended up planting a tonne of tulip and daffodil bulbs to get me through it.

stonedaisy · 01/09/2023 20:56

Totally feeling the same OP. Edgy and sad about the end of summer

No it isn't.

It's the first day of the Meteorological Autumn. That ties in more closely with changes in the actual weather patterns, and the OP's feelings about today, it seems.

Lovehearts82 · 01/09/2023 21:02

Ahhh, the 'Ber' months, my faves 🍂 I did strangely find it chiller today, I put the heating on for a bit, maybe it was just psychological chilliness I felt 😁

Nanny31 · 01/09/2023 21:03

You hit the nail on the head!

Autumn is upon us!

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 01/09/2023 21:04

Except of course schools are back (already or next week) so of course warmer weather and sun is inbound

Greenshake · 01/09/2023 23:15

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee ???

TeenLifeMum · 01/09/2023 23:17

The sunsets over the last 2 nights have been simply stunning here. I love a warm September before autumn and the weather app suggests that’s coming.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/09/2023 23:18

Do You Remember ….. ?
