Posting for more traffic here.
Has anyone done this course online, if so how do you access it on the day? Do they send you a link on the course date ?
I've misplaced the letter I got to book the course ( I will find it this morning when dc is out and I can do so in peace) , I'm just panicking a little in case I cant get to the zoom meeting on the day.
I've never done any online meetings so it's all new to me and my worst nightmare.

It’s done via zoom, I was sent a link over the day before by email and logged in from there. Just make sure your device has enough charge and have a pen and paper to hand as well as your photo ID. It was really simple and a very informative course.

Yeah there is a link but if you failed to attend or drop out you’ll count as not doing it and it will be the points. Dh had to do one. V v boring.

Log in, got let in the room alone, show I’d get kicked out. Then once the leader had checked everyone’s id everyone was back in. You’re meant to be in a room alone with nobody even seen walking by but a lot on that group where not. But like me sat at my pc the other side of the room listening to this person drone on. You do get a coffee break though.

Make sure you’re in a room with no one else and no interruptions. We were told that a cat wandering across the screen would be fine, but that a person (adult or child) entering the room would mean you failed the course and would need to rebook.

You're lucky - ours have been in person with a group of other reprobates!

My DD did it a couple of weeks ago. Once you've booked your date they should email a link to a zoom meeting - well before the date itself.

You'll need a device with a reliable connection. My DD used my iPad and it worked fine. Download the Zoom app before the day.

I'd suggest connecting a little earlier than the start time, in case you have any difficulties.

Thanks my partner did one a couple of years ago, I sat on the other side of the corner sofa out of view, it was mind numbingly boring to listen to.
I'll be using his better laptop in a room upstairs alone.
I'll get him to download the zoom app if he hasn't already got it.

You will get a link by email, DH did one and don't worry about doing the meeting, I had never done one before and had to do one for something else, not speed awareness but found it quite easy, I put the Zoom app on my iPad in good time and found it quite simple to join the meeting.

I just did one and it was on Teams.

The woman was really nice. After she checked my ID she told me to go and get some breakfast so I could eat it during the course. Grin

She also told us we could just go to the toilet when we wanted except for one period of time when there was a video.

There were ten people on mine and she kept everyone involved all of the time by asking questions so you had to keep listening.
