Went to Tescos yesterday to get MIL some flowers and perfume. I like the bouquets at Tescos and often buy them for presents for friends. It was blatently obvious that the prices had been increased, if I had bought a £20 bouquet any other day, I would have got a lovely gift but the £20 bouquets on offer yesterday were pathetic with about 6 flowers in total and green foliage. Luckily she likes lilies so I bought a couple of bunches of those instead, I bought both mums cards some time ago but I had my goddaughter with me and she had £10 to get her mum a prezzie and a card, she chose a card which was okay but I couldn't believe it when I saw the price at £4.95, anybody else think this is a rip off?

yep its disgraceful, every occaison like this including valentines day they double up on the perfume/flowers/bears etc, they really shouldnt be allowed to get away with it

juuule · 02/03/2008 10:21

They'll probably keep getting away with it while people are daft enough to pay the inflated prices.

Emprexia · 02/03/2008 10:31

Thats why i buy the smaller ones like the Tulips, Lillies and carnations and put my own Bouquet together, its much nicer.

Kaishay, thats a really good idea, I'll try that next time i get flowers for a pressie, could use nice tissue paper, ribbons etc, oooh feeling all creative now!

I've always spelt it hoick .

No flowers at all for me this year. I gave strict instructions that they weren't to waste their money. Besides I still have some flowers left over from my birthday (still going strong after 19 days).

Sorry, yes, it's in the dictionary meaning to sharply raise something .

I like my flowers in a garden so I ask for packets of seed.
