Long story but ended up on our family holiday in Aberdeen for a week. Had no idea what to expect.

I wasn't expecting Aberdeen to steal my heart! My grumpy teenager wants to live in Aberdeen.

I have one more day in this amazing city, we've done all the obvious things, any locals have any suggestions what I should do tomorrow?

Thank you

We are English, and spent a week there last year (at the Atholl Hotel if anyone wants a recommendation - beautiful building) and everyone, without exception, was lovely. I loved the city and the wider area (Dunnottar was unforgettable). Admittedly the sun was shining so everything was sparkly.

I don't think it's anti-English.

Union Street is in decline, along with high streets everywhere, but Aberdeen is still a great place.

I don't think Aberdeen is anti-English either. It was always fairly cosmopolitan because of the oil industry. I can honestly say that even at the height of the awful Independence Referendum in 2014, no one has ever insulted me to my face for not having a Scottish accent.

The last time I was in Aberdeen a man doing a poo in the street called me a “dirty P*ki” I wasn’t pooing in the street! The maritime museum is quite good though.
