Hi everyone… my dear son and daughter in law are off to Phuket in Thailand this November.
Dil is trying to create an itinerary for their two week stay.
What are your best suggestions including the unusual, quirky or romantic?
Tia 🤞

… can you include things that should be booked in advance?
Big thank you…

I would recommend booking koh (island) phi phi, you go by boat transfer from Phuket. From koh phi phi you can book a trip to see the beautiful island from the movie The Beach, dont know if you seen it.
Phuket in itself I would not stay too long as I found it to be lots of disco and ping pong shows. Not wanting to insult anyone, but romantic I found it not to be.

Oh dear … silly me forgot to say it’ll be their honeymoon!
Yes I’ve seen “The Beach”…book was better!
Not sure if the honeymooners have tho’.
Thanks for your idea 🥰

Phuket is much more than ping pong shows. Patong is pretty hectic, yep, but outside of that is quite different. Depends on where they are staying - the beaches south of Patong are really calm and lovely.

There are elephant sanctuaries in Phuket. Some are better than others so do your research to make sure you get an ethical one. Definitely no riding!

I would stay at the Sala Phuket.
If Koh phi phi Le then you want to be away from the main town, we stayed at the phi phi island village, lovely hotel but the water taxis were noisy and prevented swimming.
Koh phi phi Don- "the beach" was overcrowded and dirty, rest of thr island was nice.

I would do krabi instead, loved Thailand but much preferred the samui etc

Green Elephant Sanctuary Park

Hike up through the jungle roads to the Big Buddha near Kata

Paddle board or kayak out to Monkey Island from Kata Beach

Laem Sai seafood restaurant out by Phang Nga Bay

If they go into Pattong, look for the little backstreets rather than the main tourist drag - some lovely little bars and traditional cafes

Sirinat National Park and its beaches (and definitely the spot on the beach right by the airport where you can stand metres underneath the planes as they come in to land!)

Take a boat trip out to Ko Racha Yai and snorkel

Phuket was hands down one one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.

Thank you all for your messages so far…
They both love elephants, and wouldn’t dream of riding them…
