Unenthusiastic happy birthday from dd

It's my birthday and my needs are low.... A "happy birthday" with a genuine smile and a hug from the kids... Hubbies making me a nice dinner.. Great..

But am feeling hurt-annoyed as 12 yo dd walked down the stairs this morning after being prompted by dh.. Looked bored, then said "happy birthday" in a neutral tone... Shes normally a dote so perhaps that why it grated..

Aibu to be feeling miffed?

Spoilt madam!

I have an 11 year old. Puberty is definitely in the offing, and he’s a hormonal little Jekyll and Hyde, one moment sweet and childish, the next eye-rolling and jaded. Having said that, DH only arrived back from a work trip the afternoon of my birthday a few weeks ago, and DS made me a card, brought me coffee in bed, and bought me flowers at the farmers’ market, and was a total sweetie. I remind myself of this when he’s being insufferable!

Happy birthday, OP.🎁

Ah thanks! I think I'm hormonal myself thus the feeling so hurt!!
But over it now, half way through a lovely bottle of wine and having great time... She s very self absorbed at the moment by times but also a sweetheart when the moment takes her, I'll bat it off😁
