To argue about socks

DP and I went to one of these ninja warrior venues; their policy (which we knew beforehand) is a compulsory pair of special socks. We took ones that are identical, other than branding, from when we went to a trampoline park. We were told these weren't suitable and that we had to purchase their own. I challenged this, putting our socks and theirs side by side and demonstrating their similarities. I said I completely understood the need from a H&S perspective needing grippy socks, but that was unreasonable to make us pay for ones that served no additional benefit over ones we were supplying ourselves.

YANBU - most venues I've been to are perfectly happy with equivalent socks.

We keep such socks in our car so never get caught short o+if we decide to visit such a park. Never paying for such tat more than once!!

You're right, but at the same time I know their thinking. If you had an accident in YOUR socks, however similar, you could claim you'd not been given correct equipment. It's the world we live in these days..

So you knew about the policy before going and decided to challenge it? You either go with the company policy, or don't go

I just hope you were polite and understanding with the staff writing there.

Take the socks for the venue sure if you already have a pair but not another venue.
