Opinions on whether to accept £150 compensation from The AA after awful experience when broken down
We (me , elderly mum and young daughter )broke down at 8pm one day last August .
First patrol arrived at 9.30pm. Couldn't fix the car so advised we could either stay in a hotel over night and get it fixed the next day or get towed home( a two hour journey usually) .
After taking his advice we decided to get towed home.
It took four tow trucks and a journey lasting until 2pm the next day before we arrived home.
We were left at service stations in the middle of the night /early hours and there was no communication from the AA unless i phoned.
We didn't sleep as was too scared .
Two of the AA drivers were really rude and dismissive. The staff on the phone were unhelpful when I did get actually through to someone. Noone rang back when they said they would .
We spent approximately £45 on drinks and food through the night/day and my AA membership cost £200
Originally they offered £50 but they have now increased this to £150 after i complained higher up.
Should i take the £150 or expect more?
