Zero tolerance for people

As the title states, starting to get to a point where I have zero tolerance for rude, self-indulged, annoying and stupid people. I have a friend whose completely selfish and cannot understand the concept of what it means to be a decent human being and I'm sick of people like that. People who consistently talk about themselves, belittle others or is just in general thick as shit with no concept of how the world works.
I happily now just ignore these types of people. Am I becoming an old grump!

Reacting like that is wasting time, your time and could get you into further strife or arguments.

I seem to be going this way and I'm a bit sad about it. I used to always try and see the best in people and be kind but over the last few years so much shit has happened I seem to have just shut down. Abusive people in my life just really ramped their shit up to the point something in me broke. And I'm now pretty zero tolerance. I just do not have the energy for other people's crap any more. Not even people I cared about deeply.
Maybe I'll get to the other side of it one day. I don't like feeling this way. I've been thru a lot recently tho

I can't tolerate wilful stupidity or a lack of critical thinking skills. Or people who spout shite from social media like it's fact based, thoughtful opinion. I can't tolerate people who constantly have drama in their lives. And I really can't tolerate loud, abrasive, selfish people who think they are the only ones in the history of humankind who are important. I don't think that makes me a grumpy old woman, I just have a busy life and zero time for other people's bullshit.

These threads always make me wonder because the "no tolerance for others" people always seem to think they're right and everyone else around them is wrong.

We are right, mainly because our behaviour doesn't tend to fuck off everyone in our general vicinity.

Do you know that for sure though? Maybe other people are just more tolerant. 🤔

Probably I do inadvertent piss people off, but I am polite, always say please/thank you, give way on pavements, hold doors etc etc. I'm not loud and I never try and intimidate. So I'm pretty sure I'm not part of the problem.

YANBU I totally agree

I've become much less tolerant. It's one of the advantages of taking early retirement. I no longer have to spend time with people I don't want to spend time with.

I feel very much the same

I’m 40 & my Give-A-Fuck-Ometer has gone right down. I really have learnt how to keep away from people who ooze bad energy and focus on my kids/marriage/friends. This applies particularly to certain work colleagues, one of whom I’m SO glad I don’t have to see every day. Much happier having physical separation from work colleagues since the pandemic. Some folks just suck my energy right out of me and I can’t wait to get the hell away from them. I used to be a total people pleaser - having children changed that

I think our tolerance for bullshittery just becomes less as we age. And the transition is beautiful.

I’m with you on this. I do not have the patience for incompetent people or those who are just draining. I’m not sure it’s necessarily a good thing but I am a lot happier in life now I’m not eternally drained by people.

Doesn’t cost anything to have good manners and be polite there is a lot of people that are not teaching children the art of manners

just bring back good old fashion manners
