to gift college lecturer

Recently moved here and really want to buy a gift card for DC's FE college lecturer at the end of each term. DH says that is inappropriate and over the top. Is this not the done thing ?

Very weird

some students do give gifts and cards to college staff at the end of the year. It’s not expected but does happen.

Just at the end of the academic year not every term.

Thank you. End of year seems a good compromise that DH cannot complain about. I want to thank the teacher somehow for what seems to be a thankless job sometimes.

An end of term gift would be lovely. I work ag a college and in 14 years I've o my ever gotten one gift despite going over and above. Not expected but would be very gratefully received I'm sure

Thank you , I will look forward to giving a gift card now. I find it so strange to not give a gift to say thank you. People generously tip hairdressers so why not the person taking care of your DC and providing them with an education.
