We have a local charity restaurant that employs people with learning disabilities. They have a shop attached. It's fantastic and I often eat there. I offered to take my elderly neighbour there for lunch. She declined saying that she doesn't like to eat there due to the people serving having learning disabilities, it puts her off her food.

I was flabbergasted, I didn't have a come back, just muttered oh right and then she changed the subject.

Would I be unreasonable to not want much to do with her anymore? For added context, my gorgeous niece is severly disabled, neighbour knows this. I feel so hurt that people think like this and I'm incredibly cross with myself for not pulling her up on it.

That'd be the last time I offered to take her anywhere, horrible woman.

At least she was honest and has shown her true bigoted colours.
We have a similar local cafe and I frequent it often, and the service is far superior to any high st cafe.
