Nah, it's lovely. I'd wear it.

ParadiseZity · 23/08/2023 17:03

Not too white but does look a bit like nightwear TBH. Sorry.

When there's doubt, there's no doubt.

I cringe so much when I see anyone in another remotely too light for a wedding. Always see it as trying to upstage the bride.

Are you posting from the 1950s?

strawberry2017 · 23/08/2023 17:17

Looks like a nightie.

GalileoHumpkins · 23/08/2023 17:19

Sorry, but it really does look like a nightie.

gingerscot · 23/08/2023 17:20

I think the problem is drawing the eye away from the bride in the photos. So I wouldn’t. Also the nightwear point…

WarmButteryCrumpets · 23/08/2023 17:22

It's obviously not a wedding dress, but it is a long white dress so it's a no from me.Surely you can find another option!

vibecheck · 23/08/2023 17:24

It’s a long white dress. Obviously a no. There will 100% be people who will judge you.

BIossomtoes · 23/08/2023 17:25

If you have to ask … And unfortunately it does look like a nightie.

Lilithlogic · 23/08/2023 17:26

If you have to ask, then deep down I think you know it is

Alargeoneplease89 · 23/08/2023 17:26

Agreed on nightie feel but great figure 🙌

Honeyandwine · 23/08/2023 17:27

Too white

thunderlump · 23/08/2023 17:28

get the nightie comments and yes, I was thinking it might cross the line with the colour which is why I was looking for opinions. Looks like I'll be going with plan b. Thanks all.

Some brides wouldn't care, others would - why risk it?

I also think wearing white is a little attention seeking, even if it is just the oldies raising their eyebrows; someone will react to it. No matter what MN tells you about it not mattering!

I'm in the SE of England (42) if it's relevant. Would be good to hear where the 'wear what you like MN's' are from and their age. Is it a new thing/regional thing that wearing white is ok? genuine question.

crimsonlake · 23/08/2023 17:32

When there are so many other colours to choose from for a wedding, yes to be on the safe side steer clear of white.

Pebblepaint · 23/08/2023 17:34

On another dress the polka dots might be OK for it not to be too white, but the style is quite bridal too IMO
