To ask for your tips for dentist dear

Hi everyone

I'm 30 and have been to the dentist once in the last 10 years, I had a root canal under sedation as I'm absolutely petrified.

I've got a 13 week old DD and want her to go to the dentist and be confident when doing so (I know she's still young but I want to take her from when she starts to get teeth as recommended now so that they get used to it).

I desperately need an appointment myself, but one of my fillings has come out and my back tooth is essentially falling apart. I brush twice a day, mouth wash and floss, my teeth are straight and not discoloured but I've got this terrible fear that the dentist is going to tell me my tooth are far too gone for any help. I know it sounds silly but I really have been putting it off since I had the root canal 10 years ago. Even then, it was a struggle and I needed sedation.

Any tips/tricks?

I used to be petrified but I've been going a lot recently due to pregnancy absolutely ruining my teeth! I've got no tips though I'm afraid, the last filling I had, I almost fell to sleep lol

What is it your scared of exactly?

I didn't go for ten year's between age 31 and 41. I was convinced my teeth all needed extraction etc.

They were all absolutely fine. Despite being wonky and discoloured! Loads of ppl never go to dentist and are fine! But do go, get your filling fixed!

Before I go in I tell myself that in half an hour or so I will walk out again, that the dentist knows what they are doing and the more tense I am, the harder it will be.

I am the same. With me, I get a lot of tartar and it got really bad by the time I went. Honestly, the worrying about it beforehand was way worse than the actual experience.
