To apply or not?

If you saw a job advertised and they asked if you had a car on the application form would you apply if you didn't have one.

What also does leave it to your discretion mean?

I asked if it mattered if you didnt have one, and was told a car was useful to get round, but leave it to your discretion whether to apply or not?

Does this mean, don't bother we will find someone with a car?

Not over Clear.

Presumably if you were offered the job you would make the decision whether to accept and get a car. Or not. I mean having a car is not a requirement for making an application.

My partner's company state this on job ads and it is because there is no public transport to get there as their site is in an odd location.

What type of job is it? If it requires travel between different sites during the day how will you do this? Or do you need a car to get to their location? I think it absolutely depends on what the job is and why a car is needed.

Getting around Visiting?

How mobile is the role? If you need to make several calls a day put of the office how feasible is using public transport or walking?

xyz111 · 17/08/2023 18:31

If it's getting around visiting, then you'd need a car surely?

LightSpeeds · 17/08/2023 18:33

Well, if you don't have a car, I think it would be very unlikely that you'd get a job making home visits.
