Noticed DD's birthmark for the first time today, DH worried it's going to be big

Hi everyone

Didn't know where to post this.

Whilst bathing my DD who's 12 weeks, I noticed that she has a birthmark that neither my Husband or I have noticed before. It's on the back of her leg.

I've attached a picture.

When I showed DH he said "oh no that's quite big and in an obvious place, she'll hate it as she gets older and it gets bigger as she grows". Does that happen? I've got a birthmark the same colour as DD's under my armpit but it's about the size of a 5p.

Now I'm worried she's going to end up with a huge birthmark that she'll hate when she's older.

He made a comment saying he hope it doesn't grow big for her sake as kids can be cruel.

If you had said that the responses would have been along the same lines but vastly supportive.

But when what you actually posted was

he said "oh no that's quite big in an obvious place, she'll hate it as she gets older and it gets bigger as she grows".

it's not surprising that people reacted very strongly.

Gosh people are so savage on here.. I have a small one the same on my leg, it’s never grown and now actually is less visable now I am 30. I actually had to look for it to see it the other day! Ignore the negative comments!

Hey! I have a birthmark in that same spot, I believe. It's a little bigger than a standard size plaster and quite dark. I pretty much forget about it most of the time, honestly. My kids tease me about it, and children did point it out in school, but I was never bullied for it. Mine looks a lot like Andy Murray's birthmark.

Here's what mine looks like. It honestly doesn't bother me. We are all different.

Realized the quality of that photo is terrible, if you zoom in you can see my birthmark. More to show how it looks when I'm walking around.
