Bought it secondhand on Ebay 8 years ago. Its batteries have never run out. It has no brand on it, only an address in China. About four years ago it suddenly played an additional tune to the tunes we'd known about.
It never dies.
What could it possibly be running on?
Anyone else got one?

We had a cheap kids keyboard once - it played really simple tunes, but once per year it would play a really fancy tune 😄. We loved when it happened.

This is not just a toy ... this is an alien!

We had a toy that (amongst other things) said ‘bye bye’. It ran out of batteries and hadn’t worked for months so I was taking it in the car to the tip when it let out one last, haunting ‘bye bye’…wasn’t enough to save it though

I have a Furby in the house that's been on the same set of batteries for 10 years. Every now and again it shouts "Wakey Wakey, Eggs and Cakey!" For no reason.

Aha so you found the brand! Can't zoom in on my android annoyingly. But does the description say what the heck powers it? The furby sounds related although this one we still press quite a lot just to be annoying and it's going strong.
I don't actually remember why we bought it. Probably because I was a ftm and thought she needed something with a sucker to entertain her in her highchair!
We are quite fond of him so don't THINK he's evil....
