Travelling with easyJet with 16 week old

DD is on prescription formula for cows milk allergy. She will be 16 weeks when we fly next month to Portugal.

Do I get boiled water at the airport/on aeroplane? Or fill bottles with boiling water before I leave house? Can I take a tub of formula in hand luggage? As well as in my hold case (paranoid if my luggage is lost, I won't have milk for her)? Does anyone know if I can take Calpol on board as she has her 16 week jabs the day before?

Calpol... do they do the sachets for the baby one?

We flew at a similar age. We took the formula powder in hand luggage. I was mixed feeding so didn't need to feed at the airport but you should be able to get boiling water from a cafe once you're airside, and make up a bottle if you need to. We took Calpol in the hold luggage but why don't you buy some from a Boots or Superdrug once you're airside?

Mine was on prescription formula, and we went away with her at about the same age. I'd noticed that there is a ready-made carton version as well as the powder, and I asked the doctor if it was possible to be prescribed a few cartons, to make things easier travelling. They were very happy to do that, so it might be worth checking out whether it might be an option for your prescription.

When we travelled with ds as a baby and cmp allergy the airline gave us an extra 15kg medical luggage allowance, so it's worth enquiring about that.

Take everything you might need in your hand luggage plus lots of extra in case of delays. With an allergy baby it's not as simple as being able to buy some more formula airside.

You should be able to order from boots online to collect airside if you want to order some ready made milk for travelling to make life easier. They're normally really good at security with baby items, they swab the outside of anything you take and run it through the machine but I've never had an issue with taking cooled cooled water and powder through seperately. If baby doesn't have a dummy might be worth taking one along to help their ears pop on the plane. Have a great time
