Had an email for a chain restaurant for a free bottle of bubbly - am going there for dinner tonight but can't drink as l have to drive plus got work tomorrow - would it be cheeky to ask if l can take it home unopened?!

It will probably be against their licencing regs to give out unopened alcohol

You can only ask, I would, if they say it has to be opened, I would ask for a bottle of wine, so that can be taken home with cork/lid back on.

Licensing has changed during covid so it’s fine to takeaway.

It should be fine op! Just ask them not to open it when they bring it over and take it home with you.
