Vinted - Buyer not collecting parcel

Posted an item over a week ago. The item arrived at the buyer’s collection point a week ago. I messaged over the weekend to let them know it had arrived (incase they hadn’t received a notification) but no response (message is shown as seen). Am I right in thinking this person has changed their mind and doesn’t want to collect the order? So frustrating as money won’t be released to me until collected.

Depends on the carrier but usually if they don’t collect the parcel will come back to you. The sale ends up cancelled

Which is exactly what I’m expecting. If this happens, will the buyer have everything but postage refunded? Will I be able to provide bad feedback?

Where will the item be returned? My address wasn’t on the parcel.

Oh and it was sent via Evri

I'm an experienced vinted buyer and mostly pick up as soon as I get a text...
But.. life gets in the way and I had a few emergencies last year which meant over a week to collect.. I did let the seller know though.. can you message them?

If you buy anything online you have to refund the whole amount including the postage paid I'm afraid. I think the evri barcode will have the senders details on. Used to hate that when I was a business seller on eBay 🙁

It will come back to your house anyway. It’s happened to me twice. Not sure what refund they get but you don’t get any money from the sale obviously.

Selfish and annoying. I've always messaged the seller to explain/apologise when I'm delayed in collecting, but not once has anything had to be sent back.

This happened to me. The parcel was returned to me and Vinted compensated me a fiver.

Maybe they are on holiday?

I'm guilty of this just this week for the first time ever. Had a few different parcels arrive & thought I'd collected them all. Sorry it's happened to you. I felt so guilty but it was a genuine error. Surprised they haven't messaged back though. Seller never chased me so I was unaware it was just sat there. Hopefully you get it back. Frustrating though x

Vinted will refund the buyer in full I believe, and you will get the item back, to whatever address is on your vinted account. I've had it happen twice in the last few weeks, very frustrating.

I refuse to use Evri, it's a disaster. I had a notification that a parcel was ready to be picked up but it wasn't there. Went back 3 times to check. I've taken it off my vinted options now.

They do have 10 days to collect, annoying but they do.

Has it been 10 days since the parcel arrived at the store? I have had someone collect on the tenth day before.

I actually had to resort to this a while back. I visited the collection point several times over the week and they were very rude, refused to look, said they had real customers to serve, or looked and said it wasn't there, and even told me they'd have sent it back.

It got returned to the seller in the end, but not for want of me trying. However, I did contact the seller and explain.

Does the buyer at least have to pay postage in this case? They only get the item price back once I’ve received it?

The buyer pays separately for postage on Vinted, buying a shipping label from them that gets sent to the seller, so the seller wouldn’t be involved in postage refund here at least.
