Double mastectomy - flat- nurse made me feel like shit!

Went to the hospital today to pick up foobs. Nurse made me feel like shit.
I had a smx 12 years ago and the other smx 4 weeks ago so now flat.
I've bought a bra but am not wearing the soft boobs.
She questioned me as to why not and that I should wear the foobs. As "it's more feminine and people might look and wonder"
Ffs I might wear them but I'm finding it freeing to be flat. Why is that so difficult to understand?

I used to have C cup boobs but after breastfeeding three children they are now almost completely flat. So I find her comment offensive. Why should all women have to have boobs? Some of us just don't.

That truly is terrible. There is nothing wrong with not wearing the foobs if you don't want to. Hell, I've only had.one breast removed and I go out.lopsided if I feel like it! @Crikeyisthatthetime is right about offering to remove both though, I end up still lopsided even if I do wear one!

I had a double mastectomy 10 years ago. When my daughter got married I wanted those fake boobs and wore them 2-3 times. I hated them and let people look. You're alive and doing well, who cares.

Hope you are feeling better today @Stressedgiraffe. Also glad.to hear you are recovering. I think we've had a few spats over the years.

One of thise situations where with hindsight a softly spoken riposte would have come in handy. "You have been rather a tit by being so rude". But it never slips off the tongue when most needed.

I wonder if a sincere letter to the nurse explaining how she made you feel might be more effective than raising a formal complaint. It may support more reflection.
