Morose and moping when ill

AIBU to expect DP not to walk around being morose and moping when ill. Just get on with it ffs! We all get ill now and then. Pet hate: that bloody, slow, flat, 'pity me' voice he puts on when he has the slightest cold. Just speak normally!!

My DH is exactly the same. Someone on here described their DH having ‘little t-Rex arms’ when they’re ill and it made me hoot. My DH does that and all the other things you’ve described. It’s pretty pathetic. Lost all my sympathy after childbirth.

Has he got a Dressing Gown Of Doom?

QueenofLouisiana · 14/08/2023 09:12

Has the dressing gown of doom put in an appearance yet? That’s when I know that this cold is fatal and that he should definitely be getting his affairs in order. Always makes a miraculous recovery should I offer to take DS out to lunch to give him some peace and quiet.

Oh god, yes, I forgot the dressing gown of doom! Accompanied by the slow slipper shuffle.

On top of ... the overly long silence before speaking, just to underscore the extent of his poorliness. Clearly, too ill to process a complex question like 'do you want a cup of tea?'

I have a Wonder Cure... Announce that's a shame I was just In The Mood...
Miraculous recovery usually follows....
