Phone Contracts

i know this isn’t really the right place but I’m after some advice. We currently pay quite a
lot for family phones. 3 of 4 are out of contract very soon and I don’t plan on upgrading. The 4th phone has unlimited data. If we go sim only on the 3, can we data share from the 4th or does data sharing only apply whilst on contract? If we can data share, it’ll save us a a wad each month. Thank you for any advice.

You won't be able to split the data but when you're together you can hotspot one to the phone with all the data and use it - similar to wifi.

If you're not upgrading, get a sim only contract for the data you want.

Go for a SIM only contract - we use iD mobile & pay £7/month for 10 GB. The data carries over if you don't use it & there's a discount for further contracts on the same account (eg £6 for 10GB).

Sky allow data sharing and all their contracts split the handset and sim.

I have a handset "contract" + a sim only contract. DS is on my account with a sim only contract.

Any unused data from either of our sims goes into a "piggy bank" at the end of each month and at any point if either of us is running low on data I can allocate from the piggy bank back to our sims using the app.

The sim only contacts are all only 30 day too so at any point I can increase or decrease them. Just recently I dropped mine to a 2gb per month one as I hardly use any and I upped DS to a 8gb one.

That was easier than me constantly having to go on the app and transfer data to him from the piggy bank!

I should have said, iD do either monthly or annual (slightly cheaper) contracts.
