Can different scales tell you different things?

As in, be wrong by a good few pounds?

My scales broke about 6 months ago and I feel like I have put on weight. Saw some at the gym earlier this week and they say I haven’t gained any - bought a set today and again they say I haven’t but I feel in myself I have.

I know it doesn’t really matter as it’s how I feel (and I don’t feel healthy or fit) but is it possible for my old ones to just have been out by half a stone?

Yes if not calibrated correctly

Absolutely, also the flooring can massively impact the measurement I.e., carpet vs hardwood, sloping floor

Yes I have had this happen with a new set of scales

Yes, is why I use the same scales, with the same clothing on, on the same floor.
