Grr! I've just barked this in fury at a workman in front of three of his workmates who called me darling in an exchange about access to the corner shop they're working on. Patronising arseholes, sick of them.

It is rather patronising of him no doubt. But I'm not sure what the remedy or response is or what works best.
I've just returned from visiting my sister in Plymouth where ppl a third of our age addressed us both as ' moy lover' 😂

I get called 'mate', 'squire', and 'fella' by males and 'darling', 'love', and 'duck' by females.

It's just how people talk, don't take it personally.

Doesn’t bother me, plenty of women use cutesy names for people too.
