To ask the neighbours to stop doing this?

Newish neighbours I've never spoken to except for a quick hello have started hanging their washing over our shared fence. It's bothering me - Do I say anything? My habitual pettiness is telling me to chuck the lot back over their side though I recognise that would be harsh.

To ask the neighbours to stop doing this?

I’d go for a coat of anti-vandal paint in my side, but I’m petty!

Paint your fence and replace the washing lol.

You can ask however as it’s a shared fence they can also refuse.

@Toobusyto - You do not have to disclose every minor argument or petty dispute with a neighbour or no-one in the UK would ever sell a house. Imagine putting that the ndn's hangs washing over your fence on a property information form!

If you have involved the Council or another statutory body fair enough, do cover your back legally, but something as minor as this would mean no-one ever stood up for themselves.

How on earth can the op be racist because she objects to someones laundry being hung over her fence. How do you know the fence is "common" between the two properties? Goady, angry, self righteous post.
